I am looking for someone to gradually take on the ride on my fabulous little mare, Flaming Shayler. She is 15yo, 15hh2, dark bay Irish mare (with a smidge of thoroughbred in there somewhere). Four black feet and one white star.

She has been with me seven years and is much-loved so must stay on full livery at her yard - the brand new Farley Hall Equestrian Centre - where I would love to gradually hand her over to a new rider, whilst still competing her a little myself for the next season. This would therefore suit someone with commitments that mean they cannot ride/compete as much as they'd like, but want their horse kept competition-ready. I also know the mare inside out and would like to help the new rider build a relationship with her.

Shayler excels at everything she does: she brings home a rosette every single outing at BSJA, BE, BD, all Riding Club and local shows. In 2009 she was never unplaced at BE100Open, coming 1st, 2nd, 8th, 9th, etc, and was also 6th Gatcombe Novice, 5th Tweseldown Novice, and double clear round some other big tracks. Barely touched a pole all year. Being a mare, she is not a robot XC but she is totally safe, nimble, short-coupled and clever, and if you point and kick she will go. Totally unspooky ditches/water/banks etc. She has 16 BE points and was clear round her only Intermediate in 2007.

She is a seriously talented showjumper, 2nd in the combined services jumping at Royal Windsor 2009, getting a silver plate from the Queen! She then went to the Royal Tournament military/police jumping and won the 1.15m, 3rd in the 1,20m, these were huge tracks. She was also 3rd Riding Club Open SJ 2009. She never stops and is ultra-careful. Competed up to Foxhunter BSJA with £175 notional prize money.

She has correct, regular paces, not flashy but neat and smart, achieving low 30s BE and up to 69% BD Novice level, all her tests are available to view. Last winter she affiliated BD for the first time and won 21 points in 6 outings, including 3 wins at Novice.

She is a versatile, tough, young-at-heart schoolmistress who is absolutely rocket-launcher-proof to hack whilst still forward-going. No vices, snaffle mouth all phases, loads herself. Despite her age she only started eventing at 9 and is blooming with health. However to prolong her career I would rather she was competed by someone looking to excel at Riding Club/Intro/BE100, or equally she has several years showjumping up to 1.20m left in her. The only thing I won't let her do is hunt as I want to keep her injury-free.

I am in no rush to loan her and will keep competing her until I find the right person who wants to initially share and ultimately take on this fabulous little horse. My only long-term restriction is that she must be free to go to Royal Windsor for the combined services jumping every May. In 2010 I will pay for all her affiliations, insurance, vet and farrier fees, but livery costs to be shared.

You can see another pic of her on the Contact page at the top middle, I have a million more and some videos.

Due to restrictions of the yard, unfortunately it can be Adults only.
